McFly have recently celebrated their 21st anniversary, and they were in for a little surprise as Busted burst their way onto the stage!
At the O2 Arena last week, Busted gatecrashed McFly’s set, outing them to the entire venue at how they have been bashing them all summer. Well, in retaliated by challenging them to a battle of the bands! Yes, in 2025, we have a chance to witness two incredible bands go head-to-head in a battle of the bands tour. There is over twenty years of history between the two bands, and with the McBusted era ending back in 2015, the two bands will be sharing/fighting on the same stage once again! Upon the announcement, McFly explained;
“Busted gatecrashed our show last night (not cool), and challenged us to a VS tour next year. They’re old men now, and we are gonna blow them and their carers off the stage next year. We’ve had a great time celebrating our 21st birthday this week and next year is going to be even better – P.S Busted Suck.”
Fighting back Busted added:
There’s been a lot of talk recently…. This is where the talking ends….! We are ready to show who is the better band once and for all. McFly suck and Busted Rock!
Busted originally came together back in the year 2000, after three years of success, member Charlie Simpson decided to leave the band for creative reasons. But, before doing that, a certain band supported Busted on one of their tours. McFly formed in 2003 and Busted had a hand in given them a break. They went out on tour together and the rest was history.
Together, both bands have collectively eleven number 1 singles, three BRIT Awards, millions upon millions of records sold worldwide, and most importantly, a Frenemy relationship for the ages. They will be heading out on the road next September/October. General sale will be on sale on Friday 18th October at 9am – tickets can be purchased here. The full list of dates can be found below;
