The box office are seeing great surges this month with the release of two major movies currently in cinemas – Spiderman: Brand New Day and The Odyssey. We’ll keep it simple and focus on just one of these movies.
If Christopher Nolan directs it, you know that you are about the watch a cinematic masterpiece. The Odyssey is for the Greek mythology enthusiasts. Even if you do not fit into that category, trust us when we say that you will still find the film fantastic. Not only is it an incredible story, but the star studded cast chosen to tell you this story are simply incredible.
The storyline follows Odysseus (Matt Damon), an epic hero that sets out onto a life-changing, epic journey that has him questioning all of his decisions and humanity. The movie is set after the conclusion of the ten year Trojan War. Odysseus, along with his men, set off home to Ithaca. The journey back, however, has more challenges than the war itself.
In the meantime, Odysseus’s wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and their son Telemachus (Tom Holland) are left wondering what happened to their loved one and question if he will ever come back. Telemachus seeks answers. He is determined to know what happened to his Father.
You join Odysseus on an unforgettable journey of war, mythical creatures, violent oceans, and Gods with a vengeance. Christopher Nolan is certainly the man for an adventure like this. The effects, setting, and the storytelling is truly phenomenal. Greek Mythology is not for everyone, but the cast were perfect at showcasing the story in a way that their audience will understand. Not once will you feel lost. Other members of the cast include; Zendaya (Athena), Elliot Page (Sinon), Robert Pattison (Antinous) and many more.
The Odyssey can now be enjoyed by many as it is now out in Cinemas everywhere!
