James Arthur is currently on tour around the UK (full review yet to come). Joining him on his tour was the marvellous Dean Lewis – and the crowd went crazy for him!

Dean has one of the most unique vocals one will ever hear. When it comes to his live performances, you will feel the goosebumps travel from your head to your toes. For an opening act, he had one of the best reactions from the crowd that we have ever seen. The audience knew every song word for word, and they were singing as loud as they possibly could.

Altogether, he sung nine songs – and everyone was completely absorbed. He started his set with his incredible song “Waves” – the perfect way to introduce himself to the odd person who may not know who he is. He then moves on to perform “Looks Like Me,” “7 Minutes,” and “Hurtless,” all of which he described the meaning behind the song which allowed the audience to feel a bit more personally connected to him. “Half a Man” was next and this track was very well recieved. Like the other songs he performed previously, “Half a Man” was completely heart-breaking and soul destroying in the best way possible however, it seemed to hit differently with the crowd. You could physically feel the emotion radiate from every individual member of the audience. It almost felt like a group therapy session, yet everyone felt closer to each other – connecting them to one another by the power of music.

Dean Lewis then performed “Memories” which is quite a new release. He talked about how the track was about a friend that he is no longer friends with, but he will keep the memories that he shared with that person. He then moved onto to sing a cover of Taylor Swift’s popular hit “Cruel Summer.” Trust us when we say, this was the best cover of the song that we have ever heard. Together with his band, he made the song even more powerful than it already is. It was a magical moment in the set, and probably a highlight to most people that attended. “How Do I Say Goodbye” was up next, and at this point, there was not a dry eye in that room as the singer shared the story of losing his dad. He ended his performance with his popular track “Be Alright” where everyone was just an emotional mess, but were still singing as if their lives depended on it.

Later during James Arthur’s set, Dean Lewis returned to the stage where they performed a duet of James’ song “Falling Like The Stars.” More information on how that duet went in our James Arthur review but, spoiler alert, it was fantastic.

Dean Lewis will be heading to Wembley Arena next year, and he is a performer that you don’t want to miss out on! He truly was a pleasure to watch. For more information, be sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram!
