After a long year of working intensely on her craft, Maisie Peters is ready to put out her brand new album titled “The Good Witch” – which is due to be out on the 16th June!
We heard the first snippet of the album after the songstress dropped the leading single “Body Better.” Maisie has a unique way of taking a vulnerable situation, and turning it into a fun loving, catchy song. The song focusses on a break-up ending in confusion, and leaves you questioning what you did wrong. You gave your all into the relationship, so why did they leave? The only solution could only be that the person they left you for has a “better body” than you. To be able to sing about your vulnerability so openly, and using your talent to turn it into a positive is a skill not many possess. Many have felt themselves not good enough, and often compare themselves to others. Now, they have a track they can relate to and know they’re not alone in thinking this way.
“The Good Witch” will be Maisie’s second studio album, and will be a follow-up to her debut album “You Signed Up For This.” Her debut album is a masterpiece that can not be recommended enough. However, it has been said that Maisie Peters wanted to show how much she has grown as a musician. Whilst “You Signed Up For This” was seen as more of an observational, coming-of-age record, “The Good Witch” focusses more on self-reflection and maturity. Her ability for storytelling within her lyrics is purely remarkable. There are no doubts that her second album will be a major success. She explains;
“This is my heart and soul, my blood on the page, the collection of stories that I’ve managed to capture in the past year. A true chronicle of my life in recent history, it is my own twisted version of a breakup album and it all draws upon the same couple of months’ worth of experiences and inspirations. It ducks and weaves between the real and surreal, and centres my own universe, of which I am of course the keeper of the keys and the holder of the cards – the good witch, if you will. It goes from light to dark in the flip of a switch and I hope takes you on a journey whereby the end you feel like you’ve gotten lost in someone else’s planet for a bit.”
The singer will be heading out on tour in April, and she is now set to perform one of her biggest headline shows to date – which includes a sold out show at London’s Eventim Apollo! Tickets can be found here, and a full list of tour dates can be found below:
