HRVY is currently on his “Third Time Lucky” tour around the UK, and last night (27th of October), the tour stopped off at Bristols O2 academy – and what a show it was!
The venue is a perfect place to have an intimate gig, whilst also having the room to have a dance around! The show kicked off with support act Keelie Walter – who strutted her stuff with her two stunning dancers. It’s always good to have an upbeat support act as it gets the crowd going from the get-go. Being the first act on, it must have been quite the nerve wracking experience. But Keelie showed no nerves as she performed her fabulous tracks “Girls Night” and “Love Beams.”

Samantha Harvey and her beautiful vocals was next on stage, and boy did she give one hell of a performance! Whilst most of her set were covers by other artists, she chose some risky tracks that many would have avoided – but the stunning songstress made it look easy! She sang Adele’s new single “Easy On Me” flawlessly, as well as Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” and Coldplay’s “Sky Full of Stars.” Her performance was simply perfection and the crowd fell in love with her voice.

Next up was Denis Coleman, we won’t say much about him as he has a whole review of his own! You can check that out here if you’re interested – spoiler alert: he was absolutely fabulous!
After not being able to perform for two years, and having to reschedule this tour TWICE due to COVID-19 – the time had finally arrived for HRVY to enter the stage. The crowd went wild as he opened with his highly upbeat track “Good Vibes” – the perfect song to start with as it truly set the vibe for the rest of the night. Good vibes all around. He continued to play banger after banger including “Told You So” and “Hasta Luego” – both of which went down extremely well. You just wished you could join him and his incredible dancers on stage as he sang some of the most catchiest tunes you have ever heard.
The tone was brought down ever so slightly in the middle of the set as he gave his dancers a break and he was joined by his guitarist. Here, he performed a stunning acoustic set which was quite the treat. Due to the audience request, he sang a beautiful acoustic version of his song “Me Because of You.” He also sang a cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s highly rated song “drivers license.” Once again, a bold move to perform such a powerful and popular song, but HRVY gave a pitch perfect performance.

With the acoustic set over, the crowd were having a dance once again as he performed “Be Okay” – a track he released with R3HAB back in May last year – and fan favourite “Million Ways.” The crowd went crazy for “Million Ways”! It’s the perfect party song, and a party is exactly what it brought. Was truly fantastic to watch fans unite over it. He also did a wonderful cover of Harry Styles’s “Falling” – with this cover and “drivers license,” we think HRVY must have wanted to make his fans cry with utter emotion. It worked. “Falling” was just beautiful, and was a pleasure to watch.
Throughout the whole set, HRVY truly made time for his fans. Between songs, he made sure that he connected with them as much as possible. He made the crowd sing Happy Birthday to one fan – which must have been such a special moment for her – he said hello to someone who was facetiming her friend, he even let the audience choose who he was going as for Halloween (Draco Malfoy was their decision if you really wanted to know). You could sense the genuine connection that he has with his fans and it was lovely to witness that.
Alas, gigs must come to a close. After the encore, HRVY performed his iconic song “Personal” and the crowd went crazy. Although they didn’t want it to end, they were going to make this last song count. Overall, the gig was just brilliant. Fantastic support acts, great organisation on the venue’s part, the merchandise was great, the dancers energised the performance even more, and of course HRVY made sure that no one was leaving disappointed. He’s about halfway through this tour now, so if you want to go and see him do his thing, you can find tickets here for any last minute purchases.
