Netflix Release New Horror Series ‘Midnight Mass’

Netflix have launched the brand new horror series ‘Midnight Mass’, brought from the spooky mind of Mike Flanagan.

The writer of original series’ ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ has returned with the new release.

‘Midnight Mass’ has been insanely popular especially during its upload month of October in the lead up to Halloween. Watchers see Riley Flynn (played by Zach Gilford) return to his home town of Crockett Island. In peculiar circumstances, Riley senses that things seem different on the island. Viewers observe him trying to build existing relationships and navigate his way back to normality.

With a resident rate of only 127 people, you get the vibe that everyone knows everyone and a secret can never be kept. The local Pastor, Monsignor John Michael Pruitt, fell ill on a trip away from the island and is unable to return. In his absence, Father Paul Hill (played by Hamish Linklater) arrives on the island and conducts the routine services, including Midnight Mass.

The storyline tackles some hot topics throughout the series in a prompt and interesting way. Alcoholism plays a huge part, in terms of regret and the long term effects that drinking can have. Similarly, religion also has a huge impact on the story, and the thoughts that different people have surrounding this.

Fans of horror have had fun creating their own theories along the way. With a considerable amount of twists and turns, we can guarantee you won’t work this one out! If you’re looking for a Halloween vibe, genuine spooks and an uncomfortable watch, this is certainly one for your watch list.
