Disney+ have recently shared the fantastic show that Lin-Manual Miranda and the cast of Disney’s “Encanto” put on at the iconic venue – the Hollywood Bowl!
At the end of 2021, we were introduced to the wonderful story of “Encanto” – a stunning animation that explores family dilemmas, magic, and some of the most catchiest songs you will ever here. The Disney film took the world by storm and people from all over the globe fell in love with the wonderful, yet flawed characters. The hit song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” even reached the top spot in the UK singles chart – the first song to ever do this since Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” was released!
Now, we were able to witness this beautiful story come to life as the cast of “Encanto” showcase their memorable characters live on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in front of a massive live audience! Lin-Manual Miranda – the genius behind the tracklist of the film – introduced the show before the stage lit up and Casita came to life! Stephanie Beatriz – who plays the leading girl Mirabel – enters the stage in full costume and opened with “The Family Madrigal.” Here, Stephanie introduces the other members of the cast who voiced the original characters in the film!
From here, they performed a magical performance going through every song of the soundtrack. Jessica Darrow – who plays Luisa – wows the crowd with fan favourite “Surface Pressure.” Diane Guerrero – who plays Isabel – stuns with her duet with Stephanie in “What Else Can I Do.” And, of course, all cast members joined forces in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”
Although a small number of the cast was missing, who remained did a wonderful job of bringing the story to life. They were joined by dancing animals, choirs, an 80-person orchestra conducted by Anthony Parnther, and special guest artists. A Colombian band, featuring musicians from the original soundtrack, will also accompany the orchestra.
The show is truly mind-blowing, and an absolute must watch. Take a front row seat by streaming it on Disney+ now!
