Beth Keeping is a UK based singer-songwriter who has just released a stunning new single “I’m Not Looking for a Friend.”
This is definitely one for those Taylor Swift fans as Beth takes her lyricism and vocals to a whole new level. The storytelling is simple delightful next to the wonderful melodies throughout the track. It’s gentle, yet captivating. It explores the notion of a “situationship,” and self-confidence. Beth Keeping takes influence from powerful songstresses in the industry including; Lauv, Julia Michaels and John Mayer. This particular track has Zedd influence shining through making it that even more catchy. The singer explains;
“It’s about being clear on what you want and intentional about going after it. It recognises that friendships can gradually develop into something more, and this process can be complicated and confusing, but you can’t sit in that space forever – eventually you have to make a decision either way.”
Beth’s desire in the industry is to help empower women through her craft. Not only through her enchanting song lyrics, but also through her initiative ‘Write Like A Girl’ which aims to shine a light on female songwriters. She was only discovered in 2018, yet since then she has made an impression on fans and music critics. She has two UK tours and sell-out writers round shows in London, Newcastle and Bristol under her belt, and her music has featured on some of the biggest Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday and New Pop UK.
“I’m Not Looking for a Friend” is only a snippet of what else is to come in 2022. The single is now available to stream on Spotify, and you can follow Beth Keeping on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for further updates!
