Lucy Spraggan has put her own spin on ‘All I Want for Christmas’. You can listen to it on all major streaming platforms!

It has been almost 10 years since Lucy sprung into success after singing the nation her original tracks on The X Factor. Judges and viewers were instantly drawn to her cheeky and down to earth banter, as well as her unique sound and presence.

This Christmas, she has covered one of the worlds’ favourite Christmas tracks. Mariah Carey is certainly not the easiest to re-imagine, however Lucy has done this perfectly in an incredibly subtle way.

From the very beginning it’s clear that Lucy has put her own stamp on the classic track. Her accent and way of singing is one that can be recognised instantly, and that’s certainly the case for ‘All I Want for Christmas’. The candlelight more intimate style displays the track in a new way, giving listeners to really feel the passion behind the lyrics.

When discussing the cover, Lucy said:

“I’d been thinking about doing a Christmas cover but couldn’t think of the right song. A friend suggested I do a song that is as far away from my normal sound as I could get – All I Want For Christmas Is You. I read the lyrics and realised that it is actually a really wonderful love song and so I thought: ‘I know what to do with this!’ I’m not sure I can match the red mini Xmas ski suit Mariah wore in the video for the original…but never say never!”

The hard work really doesn’t stand still for Lucy Spraggan as she is currently working on the follow up to her 6th studio album ‘Choices’, that was released earlier this year. It successfully reached number 5 on the UK Official Album Chart, and fans can’t wait to here the ever growing talents’ new releases.
