REVIEW – ‘Black Widow’ is Released in Cinemas!

‘Black Widow’ excites Marvel fans as the latest Marvel masterpiece has arrived in cinemas, following the actions of Natasha Romanoff.

Natasha Romanoff also known as Black Widow, is portrayed by Scarlett Johansson and has played a huge part in The Avengers from the beginning. However, fans didn’t really get the chance to know the character until now.

In her first self titled feature film, fans and viewers are excited to see more of her. Although she is one of the first characters to be introduced, her back story is only touched on, with the knowledge that she has a past of being a Russian spy.

The film takes place earlier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than present day, and is set after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Joining Black Widow is her best friend Yelena Bolova. She is played by Florence Pugh, who is a popular actress for her roles in ‘Midsommar’ and ‘Little Women’.

There have been several hints in previous Marvel films to suggest that Natasha had a disappointing up bringing and that things were never easy in her past. The new movie will touch on her history as a spy, attempting to maintain friendships and the broken relationships suffered during a time long before The Avengers assembled.

Due to the pandemic, ‘Black Widow’ is the first film to be released since 2019’s ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’. It was actually due to be released on 1st May 2020. Since then, though, fans have still had a lot to sink their teeth into with series’ such as ‘WandaVision’, ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Loki’ laughing the MCU well into Phase 4.
