Mae Krell has released their stunning new single ‘colorblind’. The song is now available to listen to on all major streaming platforms!
Back in 2020, Mae Krell returned to music after a 2 year hiatus with new music for fans. With a more mature sound and understanding, their niche sound of folk-pop combined with soulful, passionate lyrics, is just what you’ll be needing to hear.
‘colorblind’ is an incredibly easy listen that suits all moods. Mae’s silky vocals comes together perfectly with the chilled backing track. The lyrics describe the heart-breaking feeling of knowing a relationship is about to end, a feeling a lot of you know all too well. The track is a truly brilliant masterpiece of emotions, and fans can’t wait to hear more from Mae.
Their precious back catalogue of hits is certainly an impressive background. With millions of streams to date, singles ‘wash’ ‘home’ and ‘garden’ all individually hit over 500k streams each.
The release of the track is accompanied by a new lyric video, too. The aesthetic colour scheme and cool font ties the video together perfectly, and is a perfect watch to wind down.
When discussing the track Mae said:
“I wrote ‘colorblind’ in the midst of what I thought was going to be the end of a relationship with the first girl I ever truly fell in love with. I’ll be the first to admit that I feel everything too much, but during the couple of days that this was going on, I really felt like the world was ending. I was wildly sad while also being very restless in a way that I had never experienced before.”
Mae is inspired by singer songwriters such as Phoebe Bridgers, Bob Dylan and Gregory Alan Isakov. With that in mind, it really is no surprise how powerful the lyrics are by Mae, confronting truths and overcoming trauma.
