REVIEW – Disney Pixar’s ‘Luca’ is a MUST WATCH

Disney+ have recently shared a brand-new Pixar film called “Luca” that can be loved by all members of the family. It’s now available to anyone with a Disney+ account!

Pixar are known for creating heart-warming stories that hit you right in the chest. Toy Story demonstrated what it would be like if toys came to life if you weren’t around. Finding Nemo told the wonderful story of a dad’s love. Pixar even showed us what it would be like if feelings had feelings in Inside Out…you can’t get much deeper than that. Now, they have treated us once again with the beautiful tale about friendship in Luca.

The story is set in a stunning seaside town on the Italian Riviera. It follows a boy/sea creature Luca (voiced by Jacob Tremblay) and the adventures that he shares with his newfound best friend, Alberto (voice of Jack Dylan Grazer). The two meet and Alberto shows Luca how much fun it is to be out of the water. The more Luca is on land, the more he feels trapped when he returns under water. They both decide to run away in hopes that they can live a better life and end up in a small town. However, their fun gets trampled on when they discover that the town that they have run away too are scared of the sea monsters that live in the ocean – them and their family. They are forced to hide their true self.

Friendships are tested, family values are questioned, but most importantly, the characters learn what truly matters. The story will teach both children and adults alike that it’s okay to be different, and that family and friend relationships are the most important thing in life. Not sold yet? Well, wait till you see the stunning animation. The bright colours captures Italy at it’s finest. You are sure going to want to pay it a visit after watching. The detail that goes into every piece of grass, every leaf, and every drop of water is outstanding. To catch a glimpse of just how gorgeous the animation is, be sure to check out the trailer above.

There is hype around the film for a reason and it is an absolute must watch. If you’re a fan of Disney and Pixar, be sure to check out our Top 5 Favourite Disney Pixar Short Films.
