Jake Wesley Rogers Drops Stunning Track ‘Momentary’

Singer Jake Wesley Rogers has recently released his insanely touching track titled “Momentary.” The track is now available to stream via all major streaming platforms!

In “Momentary,” Jake pays homage to some of his favorite LGBTQ+ trailblazers including Marsha P. Johnson, Oscar Wilde and Peter Pan – all of whom can be seen throughout the music video. It’s a beautiful ballad that gets you deep in the soul. The hard-hitting lyrics sit with you and gives you something to think about. Jake showcases his stunning voice with the help from a choir that can be heard in the background. The two together create a unique blend that keeps you hooked from the very beginning. The perfect track that was dropped just in time for Pride month where we can all celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community.

When talking about the track, Jake Wesley Rogers explains;

“Momentary is a funeral and a celebration of life. As a queer person, I think it’s important to recognize the complex tapestry that began before I was here and will continue after I’m gone. In the song, I pay respect to my heroes, both fictional and actual, from Marsha P. Johnson to Peter Pan, who didn’t get a chance to grow old. In the music video directed by Se Oh, I boldly sing in fishnets and a loin cloth while being crucified on a cross, a powerful representation of the impermanence of love and life. Everything truly is momentary”

The music video is just as gorgeous as the track itself. A true cinematic masterpiece that should be mandatory to watch. As mentioned previously, you will see some of Jake’s heroes in a black and white film that creates a stunning aesthetic. The singer himself can be seen attached to a crucifix surrounded by flowers. The song and the music video tells a story that you keep returning too in order to find out every last detail. Jake has successfully captured a hard-hitting tale within the story-telling of his lyrics, as well as a powerful music video to co-alongside it. The video is now avaiable to watch via YouTube below;

“Momentary” is quite the contrast to the singer’s previous single “Middle of Love – which has some of the most infectious beats that you will ever hear. The bass-line pounds in your chest, the piano melody flows wonderfully, the instrumentation builds throughout the track forcing you to appreciate every second. Jakes vocals and lyrics make the single what it is. You have to learn the words fast as the only way that you can fully appreciate this song is to sing it from the top of your lungs. We can only imagine the energy “Middle of Love” will to a live audience.The best thing about Jake Wesley Rogers and his music, is that he embraces every part of him. He is so unmistakably himself, it inspires others to do the same. More artists like this will help towards the world being a better place for everybody.

Both tracks are definitely worth checking out, as well as future releases that may be on the way! To keep up to date on what Jake Wesley Rogers is up to, be sure to follow him on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
