Oslo quartet, Veps have recently dropped their new single titled “Ecstasy.” The track is now available to stream via all major streaming platforms!
Allow “Ecstasy” to take you back to that cool 90s sound. The track captivates you instantly and you can’t help but love it from the moment you press that play button. The new single has been released ahead of the band’s upcoming EP “Open The Door” – which is due to be released on the 11th of June!
When talking about the “Ecstasy,” singer and keyboardist of Veps, Helana Mariero Olasveengen, explains;
“The song is about a guy who’s afraid of commitment. A guy who’d rather waste his time on self validation through hooking up with numerous people, rather than exploring his true feelings with a special person.”
A wacky music video was also released alongside the track. The whole thing was shot in guitarist and vocalist Laura Dodson’s basement over a weekend. Veps showcase their creativity by creating a video that perfectly flaunts their personality. The video is now available to view via YouTube below;
When talking about the making of the video, the band explain;
“Helena made all the amazing cakes, and the most time consuming thing about the whole process was cleaning ourselves up from all the cake and frosting in our hair. We won’t be having cake for a while…”
Their new EP “Open The Door” was recorded at Studio Tjueen Studios in Oslo, Norway. The songs that we will be hearing were self-produced by the band and mixed by Girl In Red’s producer Matias Tellez. This collection of songs works as a letter to their teenage years. Just like “Ecstasy,” the EP is strongly inspired by the sound of the 90s – but with their own, modern twists.
