Charlie Clark has released new music video for his track ‘A Bridge To Your Idol’. The video is now available to watch via YouTube below;
Described as Scotland’s best kept musical secrets, Charlie Clark is a musician, promoter, songwriter and so much more. Initially finding his feet in the music world, he is a founding member on acclaimed Glasgow indie-pop group Astrid. For over two decades Charlie has been a pro-active presence in the underground music scene.
The latest track from the singer, ‘A Bridge To Your Idol’, is a humbling song that pays homage to his late father. The single was recorded with Jason Shaw from Cambodian Space Project, and Calum Buchanan from The Sea Atlas, in Uig on the Isle of Skye. It’s also the closing track from upcoming album ‘Late Night Drinking’, and acts as a final toast to the father of Charlie.
When discussing the track, Charlie said:
“After losing our Dad last Summer and becoming a Dad just months later myself I have so much gratitude about how lucky Kevin (Clark’s brother) and I were to have such an incredible father. I’d written this song before my Dad died but with the mindset it was coming sooner rather than later… The video was filmed over the last month of Dad’s life when he had all of his family around him, which was him at his best.”
The music video shows black and white footage of a poorly father, that is likely to hit home for some. Raw footage showing a mixture of memories, landscape footage and a family doing all they can, the video really proves tribute in the best way possible. ‘A Bridge To Your Idol’ will be featured on the singers debut album – which is due to be released later this year. Charlie will also be performing an interactive livestream that will take place on the 15th of April in Glasgow! Tickets to view the livestream can be found here.
