Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor Joshua Bassett has recently released his brand-new single “Only a Matter of Time.” The track is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
“Only a Matter of Time” is a heart-wrenching number that will have you grabbing those box of tissues. The simplicity in the instrumentation and the vocals flow so majestically, that it makes it hard to snap out of the trance that you find yourself in. The combination of the gentle piano and the delicate acoustic guitar melody create such an enchanting blend. Pair that with Joshua’s stunning vocals and vulnerable lyrics and you have a masterpiece. When talking of “Only a Matter of Time”, Joshua Bassett explains;
“I wrote this song in the summer of 2020 in a moment in time where social media was bringing a lot of darkness to my life. It was healing to put my phone down, turn off the noise and just write. There’s good that comes from social media, but it’s also become a place where people can say anything about anyone, no matter how false or damaging with no accountability. We’ve gotta be much kinder to each other and recognize there are real people behind the screens!”
This is the second single that we have heard that has been taken off of the singers highly anticipated self-titled EP – which is now available to pre-order here. It follows the success of his upbeat track “Lie Lie Lie.” The previous single gained global praise from both the media and fans. If these two songs are anything to go by, then you should probably get to pre-ordering it now!
Joshua wanted there to be a way to give back to the world – especially considering the current climate that we are all facing. He has recently promised that 100% proceedings that he makes from his merch will be sent to a charity of your choice. Fans can pick one of five charities they would like their money to go towards including A Long Walk Home, Jack, Teen Line, The Sunrise Movement, and The Young Feminist.
With new music to come, and the way he’ll be continuing to gain more interest with his lead role as Rick is the Disney+ original series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” 2021 is going to be seeing a lot of this rising star in the months to come.
