Lenii and Callie Reiff have come together and prove that they are an absolute dream team with their new remix of “The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0.” The track can now be streamed on all major streaming platforms.
The original version of “The Kids Are All Rebels” came about after Lenii wrote a rap-verse calling out the unbalanced systems America is built on. After posting it on TikTok, it recieved a massive 2 million views, and she was flodded wiith requests to finish the track. Thus the single was born. It was used by the Utah Democrats in an official ad campaign, and has seen an impressive 630k overall streams. Lenii touches on climate change, Covid-19, police brutality and sexism within the lyrics – it was this that attacted Callie Reiff. After reaching out and getting in contact for collaboration, the pair have made an already powerful track even more powerful.
When talking about the song, Callie says;
“I loved the meaning behind the record and how powerful it felt. It was the perfect track for me to combine everything I have already been working on into it and showcase this new side of my sound no one has heard yet.”
“The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0” was premiered live on Callie’s December residency on Sofi Tukker’s weekly Twitch show. When talking about the collaboration, Lenii adds;
“Considering the theme of the song, teaming up with Callie (who’s a badass, female, Gen Z New Yorker) just felt so fitting. t turns out we went to the same DJ & production school, and were both the youngest students to attend our respective classes so connecting 8 years later, with that kind of shared history in a male dominated industry, really amplifies the power in the song to me.”
The message is fantastic, these two amazing young women have put out an insane Gen Z track that needs to be listened to by not only young people, but every that has access to streaming services.
