New York based duo Eighty Ninety have recently released the music video for their single “Better as Friends.” The video is now available to watch below;

Eighty Ninety consists of brothers Abner (vocals, production) and Harper (guitar, production) James. They first came on the scene in 2016 with their hit single “Three Thirty” – which found a place on Spotify’s Global Viral Charts at number 2. Their debut was soon followed by their EP titled “Elizabeth.’ Since then, the pair have reached over 26 million streams on Spotify to date, and have appeared on Spotify’s most iconic playlists.

Their new single “Better As Friends” has a dreamy tone to it that you cannot help but find addicting. The soft vocals, relatable lyrics, and catchy beats will have you hooked from the get go. They are able to perfectly capture a story that can connect with anyone who hears it. It’s a pop sound like no other. The music video is simple, yet still perfectly executes the story being told.

When talking about their process on creating music, Eight Ninety says;

“We let the emotional arc of the song, rather than any set of genre conventions, lead us to instruments and sounds.”

Their emotions and feelings ooze out into every note and lyric played. The minimalistic production proves that when you have talent, no other gimmicks are needed. “Better As Friends” is a song that is just easy to appreciate. It deserves to have a place on everyones playlist. The track is now available to stream on Spotify.
