Saoirse Ronan returns to cinema screens this September as the trailer for the new dark comedy Bad Apples is released by Paramount.
We all have horror stories from our school days, most about the teachers themselves. There were ones we loved, and those we absolutely despised. Either way, they need a break. It’s a stressful job, right? However, teachers that we remember from our school days, and those who are still in the profession, probably won’t go to such lengths as Saoirse’s character in Bad Apples.
In the new trailer that was released this week, we see a glimpse of a dark, yet humours story of a school teacher at her wits end. Maria (Saoirse Ronan) is a primary school teacher who adores her job yet, the pressures from the burden of having to deal with the everyday school problems; under funding, parents, and, most importantly, misbehaved children. Those class clowns that disrupts the lessons for our passed selves and current children? How would you handle that situation? Well, Maria is having trouble with one particular child in her class and…let’s say she may have went a bit too far to fix her problem. Danny (Eddie Waller) is out of control, and Maria has had enough. So she decides to take things into her own hands. The full trailer can be found below:
Bad Apples is directed by Jonatan Etzler and written by Jess O’Kane. It is an adaptation of Rasmus Andersson’s novel De Oönskade. The lengths that Maria goes to is…unethical. Definitely not something that we recommend to current teachers of today. But…maybe her plan was worth it? We will find out when Bad Apples hits the cinema screens on 18th September. It’s a comedy you don’t want to miss, so be sure to mark the date in your calendars.
