Lionsgate have finally dropped the official trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

The new movie marks the sixth film of the Hunger Games franchise, and it follows the release from the latest book in the series by Suzanne Collins. We have already witnessed the story of Katniss and Peeta in the original trilogy, and we have also delved into President Snow’s sinister past in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Now, we are set to discover what happened in the 50th Hunger Games Quarter Quell; the year that Haymitch Abernathy won.

In the original movies, Haymitch was played by the brilliant Woody Harrelson. In the latest instalment, the honour of playing the complicated role has been passed to Australian actor Joseph Zada. Joseph is joined by a star studded cast including Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin as Ceasar Flickerman, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, as well as McKenna Grace, Glenn Close, Lily Taylor, Witney Peak, plus many others. News on the cast has been widely praised online for staying accurate to the book, showing a good sign that the story is in good hands when it comes to the adaptation.

Viewers can expect to see the younger versions of old beloved characters, and the and how they are a part of the dark truths behind Haymitch’s story. The trailer shares a glimpse of the cast in action. A hint of rebellion sprinkled through the scenes. The setting, much like the contrast of Districts and the Capitol, are dark with the contrasting, eerie colour.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year. It is due to be released in Cinemas on 20th November!
