Yes, there are many of us who were skeptical by the interesting direction but, there is simply not a dry eye in the audience.
The film begins when Robbie was just a young boy. He was full of mischief and adored his Nan, Betty (Alison Steadman). He also looked up to his Dad Peter (Steve Pemberton) who was certainly a complicated individual throughout his life. But, he craved his approval nonetheless. The film showed the ups and downs of the msuic industry. Unfortuantely for Robbie, it seemed that there were more downs. Drugs, alcohol, and self-doubt were the singers worst enemy, and fighting them off has been the biggest challenge he’s ever had to face. Relationships were lost, careers were on the line. And the hard times have certainly made him what he is today.
“Better Man” was directed by Micheal Gracey who is famously known for directing The Greatest Showman. His imagination thrived in this film as it truly was a cinematic masterpiece. The story was told alongside Robbie’s most iconic songs making it one of the best film soundtracks with tracks including; “Rock DJ”, “Angels,” “She’s the One” plus many more.
Have faith in the process. It’s an interesting concept that paid off. It’s one of those films that will still be on your mind weeks after watching it.
