One Tree Hill has made a popular resurgence this week with the exciting announcement of it’s return to Netflix.

The 2000’s teen drama originally spanned over a sensational run of 9 seasons and nearly 200 episodes. following the story of two half brothers, Lucas and Nathan Scott, viewers watched their complicated relationship with each other, parents and peers until it’s final season in 2012.

News broke this week that Sophia Bush (Brooke Davis) and Hilarie Burton (Peyton Sawyer), will be executive producers on the new project and will also reprise their characters. Daneel Ackles (Rachel Gatina) and husband Jensen will also have input as they also produce the return.

The new series will show the two mothers parent teenagers the same age that they portrayed when the show started. Handling similar topics such as loss, heartbreak and typical teenager drama, the difference in era will be apparent with the new use of social media and the concerns that can cause.

Fans speculate who else might return, as the last time we saw Brooke and Peyton they were happily married with children. Many believe it may potentially change the course of these relationships with rumours that some very important characters not returning.

The cast of One Tree Hill have had a very successful podcast in the form of ‘Drama Queens’ in recent years. It was one of the first of its’ kind, with old cast mates re watching the show in later years to offer alternative views, and have recently moved onto Season 7.
