“Twisters” is a stand-alone sequel (1996) that has just dropped at your local cinema!
“Twisters” follows main character Kate Carter (Daisy-Edgar Jones). In her youth, she and her friends were stormchasers, determined to find a way to tame tornados. However, in their attempt to put their theory into practice, disaster struck and now Kate is haunted by her passed. She now works in New York but was lured back into the thrill of storm chasing after her old friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) convinces that her brains can make a difference. Javi has a new tracking system to test and Kate is the only other person that can help him.
As Kate makes the difficult decision to confront her past once more, she is met with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell) – who is a YouTuber that live streams his reckless adventures chasing tornados. At first, Kate sees him as an annoyance more than anything else but, they form an unlikely friendship. The full trailer can be found via YouTube below:
“Twisters” is a fantastic, action-packed film that will keep your eyes glued to the screen. Their is disaster within the film, but also hope. The message of never giving up on what you believe in, despite it not working out in the past, is prominent throughout the whole movie. The storyline has a wonderful pace, and the cast do an excellent job of bringing it to life. At parts, you feel as if you’re right in that tornado with them. You will be hanging onto the edge of your seat, willing the characters to not give up hope.
It’s certainly a film worth seeing, so be sure to check it out at your local cinema!
