Tiktok sensation, Jax, has just dropped her fantastic debut album – and each and every track will take you on quite the emotional rollercoaster.

The album opens with a powerful track titled “jelly beans” – a great introduction to what’s to come. It has Jax’s quick wit alongside catchy beats that will have your toes tapping along. “HOW DARE YOU” has been making its rounds on TikTok recently with obvious reasons. The tracks starts off gentle with the singers vocals being pitch perfect, before eventually building up to a belter of a song. The song is all about a previous lover moving onto someone else, whilst you’re still trying to get over the relationship yourself. The unfairness you feel seeing someone you love, love someone else.

The track on “Dear Joe,” that truly makes the entire album stand-out is the powerful song “i choose violence.” Jax bravely shares her story of being taken advantage of by an older man. Yes, it is a hard topic to listen about however, the songstress has such a way with words that it hits you deep in the chest. It’s addictive in a way that you want to feel pain, just to be able to release it again. A form of therapy disguised into a beautiful song that you can’t help but fall instantly in love with.

The album also features some previously released singles such as “Victoria’s Secret” which went viral across the internet for it’s catchy beats and relatable lyrics – having surpassed a whopping 160 million streams on Spotify! “Dear Joe,” also features the beautiful song “Like My Father,” a song that was written about her parents relationship.

One of the video serious that Jax is so famous for online are her hilarious videos she makes with a girl that she used to babysit name Chelsea. Watching their sweet bond warms the soul, and Jax even dedicated a song to her on the album. “a song for chelsea” expresses the fears of Chelsea growing up and experiencing the dangers in the world. Her protectiveness over those she loves is a theme you see throughout the album. “superbad” is another example of this as it discusses the situation of seeing a friend of yours in a bad relationship, and not knowing how to tell them.

What draws all the songs together is the very funny interludes that are scattered between the tracks. These one and a half minute songs truly showcases Jax’s funny side that everyone fell for. These humorous interludes include; “Barbara, your husband is gay,” “Adam Sandler,” and “the clap.”

To summarise, “Dear Joe,” is an absolute masterpiece. It’s well-written with a hint of humour. It’s an album that you simply need to bless your ears with. “Dear Joe,” is now available to stream via all major streaming platforms! 1. This album speaks to my soul! It is so original and refreshing to see an artist speaking their truth instead of the regurgitated crap that is todays pop music scene.
