“IF” explores the wonderful world of imaginary friends- and a star-studded cast truly brings the concept to life!
“IF” is about a young girl called Bea (Cailey Fleming) who sadly loses her mum at a young edge. Fast forward to when she is twelve and her Father (John Krasinski) is undergoing a major operation and it’s bring back some bad memories for her. Whilst he’s in hospital, Bea is staying with her grandmother (Fiona Shaw) in the appartment she spent most of her childhood. It is here she meets the man upstairs, Cal (Ryan Reynolds). Bea discovers that there is something rather…unusual about him.
After following him one, she discovers that Imaginary Friends (IFs) are in fact real, and Cal is helping them find a new child after their orginal owners forgot about them as they grew up. Cal introduces Bea to Blue (Steve Carrell), Blossom (Pheobe Walker-Bridge), and all the other IFs. Bea decides that she wants to help Cal and the IFs and they build friendships that we could only dream of having.
The film was also directed by John Krasinski and he was able to accomplish a fantastic film with a long list of stars starring in it. As well as the actors previously mentioned, you will also see (or hear) many other stars including; Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper and so much more. Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming and a fantastic on-screen chemsitry and they truly made the film what it is. It is the perfect film for all the family. It’s imaginative, funny, and at some points, kind of heart wrenching.
It’s most definitely a film to watch for all ages, so be sure to check it out at your local cinema!
