The sensational new picture Civil War has hit cinemas in a big way, with its’ impeccable storytelling and raw footage.

The film follows Lee Smith (Kirsten Dunst), an experienced war photographer who is on the road to capture the impending doom for the President. with his ridiculous new rules and regulations America soon turned on itself, to a point where nobody is safe and you’re not sure which side you are on anymore, with conflicting emotions and concerning questions.

Lee is accompanied by her long term colleague, Joel (Wagner Moura), who wants to interview the President before it’s too late. Some late arrivals to the road trip include Sammy (Stephen McKinley), who writes for a rival paper. Jessie (Cailee Spaeny) also wangled her way into the car, a young photographer looking to follow the same footsteps as Lee.

Civil War will have you on the edge of your seat for the duration of the film. There aren’t many quiet moments, and therefore is full force from start to end. Following the journey of the media, you really feel like you are there and a part of the change. It also portrays a behind the scenes view of what it really looks like to be a war photographer, and the sort of emotions this portrays being around tragedy all of the time.

There is a truly stunning performance from all of the cast involved, but particularly Kirsten Dunst. She does a great job of offering subtle changes which will really have you reflecting the impact the war has had, and how it can either harden a person, or have them fall a part. A truly epic return to the big screen in a picture that makes you feel involved.
