Kayla DiVenere has released her gorgeous new track ‘Small Talk’. It’s available to listen to on all major streaming platforms!
At only 20 years old, Kayla has already made great success with previous singles ‘Date Myself’ and ‘Jumping the Gun’. Now, she has created an incredibly raw track as she describes thee secret crush she has on her brother’s best friend.
‘Small Talk’ offers the signature sound that fans have grown to love from Kayla. The soft and subtle lyrics combined with the head bopping backing track will have you reaching for the repeat button in a heartbeat. This track is the perfect description of needing deeper communication with someone to get to know them better, and keeping it to yourself.
When discussing the new release, Kayla DiVenere said:
“I created ‘Small Talk’ in my longing to have more than a fleeting 5 minute conversation with my crush every time he would come over. My imagination ran wild and I found myself aching for something like a John Hughes romance movie about a secret love, complete with a boombox outside my window and a mixtape of his favorite songs. After rewatching every romance movie I could find, I decided that instead of torturing myself, I should write this song in an attempt to pour my heart out and make sense of my desire for something more than small talk.”
The track was created with producer and songwriter Jordan Witzigreuter, and songwriters Maia Kelly and Zach DeGaetano. The future certainly looks bright for Kayla as fans can see she has only just scratched the surface of her musical talents, and look forward to what comes next.
