Tom Holland is Announced to Star in West End Play “Romeo and Juliet”

Yes, you read that headline right. Tom Holland, THE Spiderman, is heading to the West End to star in Shakespeares romantic tradgedy, Romeo and Juliet.

When the announcement was made, the internet went WILD. Fans of the Marvel actor went into hesterics when they thought that they could see the star doing what he does best in person. Tickets went on sale at the end of last week, selling out in a matter of hours. It was estimated that 60,000 fans were trying to get their hands on these tickets. With the venue only housing 600 attendees, it’s fair to assume some were left disappointed. However, for those who did manage to snap up those tickets, they will be enjoying a magnificent play starring a magnificent actor.

The rest of the cast are yet to be announced. We are yet to find out who will be playing Tom’s Juliet. But, the cast is already off to a good start. It is only a matter of time before we find out who will be joining Tom Holland on stage at the Duke of York Theatre. The play will be running for twelve weeks from the 11th May – 3rd August.

Tom Holland will be heading back to his roots as at the age of 9 years old, played the lead in West End Show “Billy Elliot.” Since then, he has seen massive success starring in some of the most famous movies to ever exist. After his spectacular adventures within the Marvel universe, we can imagine that this new role will be very different from what he’s used to. Not to mention the fact that he will now be performing in front of an audience rather than in front of a camera. Romeo and Juliet will be directed by Jamie Lloyd who will sure bring the incredible tragedy to life in a wonderful way.
