Sam Scherdel – a singer-songwriter from Sheffield – has recently shared his energetic new single titled “R.E.T.R.O”!

“R.E.T.R.O” is an exciting, and incredible track that is filled with a sort of nostalgia we all sometimes crave. There is something about the infectious beats that seem familiar, and yet Sam has somehow managed to make the song unique and unlike anything that you usually hear in the charts. It’s a wonderful, and comforting song that will remind you of the summer time – even on those wet winter days.

It’s a perfect song that can be played live at a big music festival and the whole crowd would enjoy it – whether they know the song or not. Sam’s wistful lyrics carry you through an infectious beat that just keeps building and building.

On the track, Sam Scherdel explains;

”R.E.T.R.O” was written in 2021 after the initial lockdowns. It’s a bittersweet pop record which contains the message to appreciate what you have whilst you have it, as the moment it’s gone is the moment it hurts.”

The singer takes inspiration from the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen. This influence can be heard in “R.E.T.R.O”, although Sam has also added his stamp making it uniquely his. The nostalgia mentioned previously can truly be seen in the music video that was released alongside the single;

The artist will be heading out on the road this Autumn as he supports Two Door Cinema Club, as well as a couple of headline shows! He’s a live act that we’re sure would be one worth seeing. Dates can be found below;
