Live in Somerset Comes to a Close!

Live in Somerset has come to an end in Taunton, and festival-goers are thrilled to finish their Summer on a high!

Live in Somerset has seen a wide range of acts over the Bank Holiday household names such as Sophie Ellis-Bexter and Alfie Boe, catching the eye of locals and festival goers.

The celebrations began with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, pulling in fans up and down the country with his special performance. The venue of Vivary Park is intimate in the nicest way, ensuring everyone had a great view for the act.

On Saturday 27th, with a fun filled line up including The Feeling, B*Witched, Dodgy and Sandy Thom. These artists offered a real sense of nostalgia, and was headline by the ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ singer Sophie Ellis-Bexter. Sunday 28th welcomes Alfie Boe to the main stage, with his sensational vocals wowing the crowd from start to finish. The Overtones and Marisha Wallace supported.

McFly headlined the final night on Monday 29th August as the festival came to a close. The band have been touring festivals all over the country this summer, with their classic hits such as ‘5 Colours In Her Hair’, ‘Obviously’, and ‘All About You’.

It was a great opportunity to hear their new stuff too, as they also played ‘Land of the Bees’, ‘Forever’s Not Enough’ with Harry Churchill, and ‘Honey I’m Home’ and many more from their most recent album ‘Power to Play’.

McFly has support from Megan McKenna who is bringing back country to the music scene in the UK, which was a thrill to watch. Callum Beattie also performed and got the crowd going with hits such as ‘Don’t Walk Aline’, a tear-jerking track that hit home for many in the crowd.

The event has offered a superb line up, offering different vibes and artists on each of the days over the Bank Holiday. If there’s one thing Live in Somerset does well, its ensuring family fun for all ages for those with a range of music taste!
