Hot Freaks have announced that they will be dropping their new album “Hot Freaks Forever” on the 15th September! To mark the occasion, they have released a new single titled “Boyfriend” as a snippet of what is to come.
“Boyfriend” is a fun-loving track and is the second single to be released ahead of the upcoming album. The single tells the story of a college romance. As he lays their lazily in bed, she’s up and ready for the day knowing that her future does not include him. The band explain;
“The boyfriend isn’t going places, she is. It’s kinda like a country song because she has big dreams, but he’s stuck in the small town, she’ll leave but he’ll always pull on her heart—we’re like that country song too, breaking up the band and going our separate ways just to get back together, but at least we’re touring now.”
“Let’s Start A Country” was the first single from the album to be dropped. Both tracks share the same synth pop sound that will have you instantly hooked.
This new album has a rather interesting past for the band, and the title suits the situation down to a T. “Hot Freaks Forever” is ironically named as the band had once split up. The new album has ten, unheard tracks from the band’s early days that have now been polished to perfection. Hot Freaks feel that is now time to finally put out these recordings for us all to hear.
Not only are we hearing new music from the group, but they are also going on tour in the US this September and October! Full dates can be found below;
