Mae Muller has the full support from the UK behind her ever since she announced that she will be representing the UK at this years Eurovision Song Contest. Her entry “I Wrote A Song” is everything you can ask for in a pop song. Now, the songstress has dropped a Topic remix, and a Vendredi Sur Mer version of the track!
The original is an anthem for all those that are angry at how their ex treated them in a relationship. Instead of bottling up those feelings, or getting revenge, Mae put her frustration into a song. By doing this, those listeners that need to throw something at their ex now have a more healthy way of dealing with their emotions! It’s infectious, relatable, and an all round incredible addition to this years Eurovision.
She explains;
“I Wrote A Song is a track I wrote after the fallout from a relationship. I was hurt and also a little angry, so I thought, where can I put this negative energy and make something positive out of it? The song is less about revenge and more about empowering yourself. While I was recording the song, I envisioned me and my girls dancing to it on a Saturday night, and that’s exactly what I want people to do! To dance, sing, let go, and feel empowered after listening.”
Vendredi Sur Mer added her stamp to the track giving it an even more spicy vibe. This version gives a sense of girl power that all us ladies crave every once in a while. Her vocals mixed with Mae’s are just flawless. The Topic remix has a bounce that is perfect for a night out in the club. Both versions are fantastic, and Mae Muller continues to outdo herself.
The original version of “I Wrote A Song,” and the new remixes are now available to stream on all major streaming platforms! You can catch Mae Muller perform the track on Eurovision on May 13th! To keep up to date, be sure to follow the singer on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok!
