The latest instalment of Evil Dead has dropped and viewers have not been disappointed with its’ scary visuals.
We see Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), the doting mother of Danny (Morgan Davies), Jessica (Mia Challis) and Kassie (Nell Fisher). It is clear from the beginning that their apartment is a lively and loud household.
Ellie’s sister Beth (Lily Sullivan) comes for a short trip and reunites with her family. She has had enough of her day to day life touring with a band, and comes to visit with the news that she’s pregnant.
The kids go out for pizza, and an earthquake occurs on their way back home. While in the car park of the apartment block the ground opens slightly, and Danny chucks himself down the gap to see what he can find. Taking the Necronomicon and a few vinyls he has no idea what awful terror this will unleash.
The fast pace of the film just doesn’t stop! Scene after scene you’ll be on the edge of your seat. The Evil Dead franchise is knows for its’ kills, and there’s certainly some goofy creative ones in Evil Dead Rise.
If you’re looking for a camp horror which is also quite funny this would be a great watch for you. Evil Dead fans have split opinions in their preference of location, as many prefer the canon in the woods setting so this Evil Dead Rise is certainly a lot different. With a great cast, mind-grabbing storyline and thrilling jump scares, the film has definitely pushed itself outside the box in comparison to the rest of the series.
