R&B trio, FLO, have become the first ever group to win BRIT Rising Star 2023, as well as BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2023!

The group released their debut single “Cardboard Box” just ten months ago, and they have been flying high ever since. The band consists of 20 year-old Renée and 21 year olds Jorja and Stella. Together, their flawless vocals blend together beautifully. If you’re an R&B fan, they’re definitely worth checking out in 2023.

“Cardboard Box” has amassed a massive 40 million global streams! Followed by their debut EP “The Lead” which has reached an astonishing 100 million views! At the end of last year, they dropped a brand-new single “Losing You” – a great track filled with sass and stunning harmonies.

With their rapid success in such a short period of time, it’s no wonder that they have snapped up the title of the BRIT Rising Star Award 2023 – an iconic award given to new artists at the famous BRIT Awards. Not only are they the first group to ever been given this award, but they also follow in the foot steps of Adele, Sam Smith and Celeste – all of which won the same title at the beginning of their careers.

Whilst we’re on the subject of award winning, FLO have also won BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2023! To tell them about their fantastic news, Stormzy did the honours and the girls couldn’t have been more thrilled. The group also confirmed a new collaboration with Stormzy on the remix for “Hide & Seek”, after the British rapper tweeted “ready when you are girls” following a Capital XTRA video of the group speaking about their dream UK collaboration. What a dream.

Fair to say, FLO are in one wild ride of a year. In 2022, they were introduced as a wonderful R&B group, and music fans simply fell in love with their sound. Now, in 2023, the only way is up for this iconic trio.
