Shaun Farrugia has released his brand-new single ‘Dear God’. The new track is available to listen to on all major streaming platforms!
Shaun is a 26 year old is Maltese native and left his old life behind when moving to London in 2019. With the support of Sigala, it didn’t take long for Polydor to notice his talents.
Shaun confirms he is ‘a sucker for a good story’ which certainly shows in his song writing. He’s also lived his own successful tale, with overcoming adversity and firmly planting himself in the musical world.
‘Dear God’ is 3 and a half minutes of passion with incredible vocals from Shaun. It’s a real wakeup call of appreciating a loved one while you still have them, and to acknowledge how good someone is for you. The lyrics describe that desperate feeling of trying to keep someone close to you, and you can truly feel this in Shaun’s voice.
When discussing ‘Dear God’, Shaun said:
“Long-distance is difficult when all you really want to do is spend every moment with that person. This song is very close to my heart and the lyrics are very personal. The lyric ‘How many times do I go to ask you? How many times do I gotta pray? I’m losing count of all of the times I promised her we’ll be okay’ is me desperately asking my girlfriend to be together in the same city, or even in the same timezone again.”
‘Dear God’ was written with Jacob Manson, who is known for his work with Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and KSI and also had help from Tom Havelock. His previous single titled ‘I Don’t Wanna Fall Asleep Yet’ has already grown to over 400,000 listens, totalling his overall streams to over 18 million to date!
