Friday the 19th of August 2022 marked the release of the all-new EP “Easy On My Eyes” by singer-songwriter, Stephen Sanchez!
Stephen is mainly inspired by the sounds of the 50s/60s. His extremely popular track “Until I Found” is the perfect example of this. It has that unique, classic sound with a modern twist. “Until I Found You” is featured on “Easy On My Eyes,” but before then, singer has treated us to six other wonderful tracks that are simply enchanting.
The opening song “Hey Girl” showcases how simplicity can sometimes be the most effective way of storytelling in songwriting. It begins with a simple guitar melody, with Stephen singing his flawless vocals on top. It gradually builds throughout the track, yet still keeping the chill vibe that will keep you entranced. “See The Light” follows which is slightly more upbeat. This song would be perfect for the Taylor Swift fans as we feel it would be something that she would release. If that doesn’t get you listening to it, then we don’t know what will.
“Mountain Peaks” and “Please Don’t Go Home Yet” are up next. Both are beautiful ballads. The whole EP is perfect if you want to focus on mindfulness, and wanting to put yourself in a good headspace. His voice, his lyrics, the soft melodies create a wonderful, stress free atmosphere. These next two ballads have to be the best tracks on the EP for this reason alone. You could fall asleep to them and have the best night sleep you’ve had in a long time.
“Easy On My Eyes” – the title track – follows and Stephen Sanchez has switched his guitar for a piano. Once again, it is a stunning ballad. What stands out the most about this track is the alluring piano melody and entrancing harmonies. The track is almost dreamlike. It’s a difficult task to transform something simple, and turn it into a masterpiece. The singer has successfully done this with “Easy On My Eyes.” Although, you might want to get the tissues out for this track!
Before the EP closes with his iconic single “Until I Found You,” we have the pleasure of hearing “Because of You” for the first time. Once again, Stephen is showing of his piano skills. This song would be perfect for a period drama. It has that classic sound that the singer thrives on. His ability to modernise an old fashioned style of music is just incredible.
Overall, “Easy On My Eyes” is a masterpiece of an EP. You will want to listen to it from start to finish, and then repeat the process. It’s simply breathtaking.
