Sea Girls have recently released their brand-new single “Lonely” in anticipation of their upcoming album “Homesick” – which is due to be dropped on the 25th of March!
“Lonely” is a fantastic single that allows listeners to escape into their headphones, and block out life around them. A music video has recently premiered that truly brings the story behind the lyrics to life. The video was directed by James Slater – who has worked with the likes of Sam Fender and Blossoms – and was shot on the beaches of Morecambe. It also stars the wonderful JoJo Macari from Sex Education and The Irregulars.
In the video, viewers will witness the journey of singer Henry Camamile and an unrequited love. You will see into his mind as he imagines what her life is like now without him there. The lyrics in the track are raw and honest, but also catchy and captivating. Easy to relate to, and easy to have on repeat. Pair that with an incredible music video and you will instantly become a fan of Sea Girls (if you aren’t already). On the single, Henry explains;
“It was written the day Ennio Morricone died, so was initially in honour of him, a nod to the good, the bad and the ugly – hence the whistle and the line ‘OK Corral.’ It’s about the best friend I probably should have gone out with, but never did. We both moved on and the band happened and life got in the way for the both of us.”
The band has also announced that they will be heading out on a MASSIVE European tour which is due to start in March. It’s the biggest headline tour of their careers so far, and it’s one you don’t want to miss out on. All dates can be found below, and you can snap up tickets via the bands website.
