REVIEW – Agatha Christie’s ‘Death On The Nile’ Finally Reaches UK Cinemas!

After two, long years, “Death On The Nile” has finally been released to cinemas. The cast and crew had finished recording the film at the end of 2019. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the film wasn’t able to be released until very recently. So, was it worth the wait?

Hercule Poirot is one of the most well-loved character in literature. Agatha Christie wrote “Death On The Nile” back in the 1930s. Many adaptations have been made of her work over the years and this happens to be the next one. The story follows famous detective Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) as he takes an Egyptian vacation on a very glamorous river steamer upon the Nile. Things take a terrifying turn as several murders take place and Poirot is left to solve the mystery and question everyone on board. Everyone has something to hide. And everyone is guilty of something.

Other members of the cast include Armie Hammer (Simon Doyle), Gal Gadot (Linnet Ridgeway), Letitia Wright (Rosalie Otterbourne), Russell Brand (Dr Ludwig Bessner), Jennifer Saunders (Marie Van Shuyler), Dawn French (Mrs Bowers), and several other incredible actors who, together, does a terrific job in bringing a the famous story to life. Agatha Christie is known for creating memorable characters and writing plots that will simply blow you away. The cast had a tough job on their hands, but it is one that they pulled off with ease.

As the film goes on, you suspect everyone involved. The twists and turns will keep you captivated. You will find it a hard task figuring out who is the true guilty one. Unless you have read the book of course. If you’re a book lover who is already familiar with the story, you’ll know how frustrating it is when you watch a film based off a book you have read and the filmmakers take out all of your favourite scenes. You won’t have that problem with “Death On The Nile.” They were able to stick to the story as much as the possibly could. The cinematics are stunning, the mood and tone were on point, the perfect adaptation of a wonderful modern classic.

“Death On The Nile” is now out in your local cinema. it is highly recommended that you go and give it a watch!
