It has been nearly 10 years since Josh Cuthbert, Jaymi Hensley, George Shelley, and JJ Hamblett formed on the ninth series of X Factor back in 2011. Union J began their musical journey and instantly gained a fanbase.
During their time as a group, they travelled the country on several tours, performed on multiple festival line-ups, and released two albums filled with wonderfully catchy, summer beats that are to die for. Sadly, George felt like it was his time to leave the group in 2016 in order to focus on himself. The trio left replaced him with Casey Johnson but alas, this was not meant to be as he left just a few months after joining. So, it was back to just three members. Unfortunately, it just was not the same. Josh was next to leave in 2018 before all members officially disbanded in 2019.
Fans were devastated with the news…but their journey as a band isn’t over yet. Today (31st of January 2022), all four original members have announced that they will be coming together once again to celebrate their 10th anniversary! This miracle began during the lockdowns where the members reconnected with one another. One thing led to another, and now they are back with a special show at the London Palladium on the 28th of May! Tickets go on sale this Friday but, they are expected to sell fast so to be in with a chance of pre-order, you can sign up here.
The band said on Loose Women that if all goes well, then they will aim to create more music. In order for it to be successful, they have made the decision to not put pressure on themselves second time around. Fans are ecstatic to see what the boys have instore in the future! It’s not often you get second chances and Union J are going to snatch it up.
More information will be announced over the next few days, so be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for further updates!
