On the 30th of January 1969, The Beatles performed an unforgettable concert on the rooftop of Apple Corps’ Savile Row headquarters. That same concert is set to debut debut as a 60-minute feature at an Exclusive IMAX® Event Screening and Filmmaker Q&A on January 30, 2022.
Last year, filmmaker Peter Jackson shared his original docuseries “The Beatles: Get Back,” to Disney+. The concert in question features on the docuseries however, in order to it make even more special, fans of the iconic band will be able to have an Imax experience of the gig on its anniversary. Peter will also be doing q&a at the event as well as handing out exclusive mini-posters. The Q&A will be broadcast via satellite simultaneously to all connected IMAX locations. Peter comments;
“I’m thrilled that the rooftop concert from ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ is going to be experienced in IMAX, on that huge screen. It’s The Beatles’ last concert, and it’s the absolute perfect way to see and hear it.”
Don’t worry if you are unable to attend, a global theatrical engagement of the 60-minute feature, “The Beatles: Get Back–The Rooftop Concert,” will then run February 11-13 2022. The docuseries will also be available on Blu-ray in the UK from the 22nd of February for those who have missed it on Disney+.
Fans will be thrilled to witness The Beatles perform their last ever gig on the big screen. It will be like transporting back in time and seeing them live once again. President of IMAX Entertainment, Megan Colligan explains;
“Ever since Peter Jackson’s beautiful and illuminating docuseries debuted, we’ve heard non-stop from fans who want to experience its unforgettable rooftop performance in IMAX. We are so excited to partner with Disney to bring ‘Get Back’ to an entirely new stage and give Beatles fans everywhere a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch and hear their heroes in the unrivalled sight and sound of IMAX.”
If you haven’t watched “The Beatles: Get Back,” it is now available to stream via Disney+.
