Sigrid has shared a festive version of her highly beloved single “Home To You.” Whilst the original is already beautiful, the Christmas version hits in a different way that forces the listener to get into that festive spirit.
The singer expresses;
“Home To You (Christmas) has always had a Christmas spirit since we wrote it. It’s about my hometown and the house I grew up in with my family. I always go back for Christmas, so it felt natural to make a Christmas version. I hope it’ll give some cozy vibes when it’s getting darker outside”
“Home To You” is an ode to her family and hometown. The love that she expresses in her lyricism and vocals are truly unforgettable. As Christmas is a time for family and friends, it makes the meaning behind the track that little extra special. The original found it’s spot at Number 2 iTunes UK charts after it soundtracked the 2021 Olympics BBC highlights. Sigrid also also gave a truly stunning performance of the single on Stand Up to Cancer’s televised fundraiser event, as well as playing a filled Wembley Arena with fellow artists and friends Griff, Sam Fender, and AJ Tracey covering ‘Times Like These’ for BBC Radio 1’s Out Out Live. A dream team we never knew we needed. The performance was truly something else. The audience was simply enchanted and in awe of their talents.
The Norwegian pop-star is a pleasure to watch live, and if these performances doesn’t urge you to go purchase tickets to her massive UK, Ireland and European tour next year, then who knows what will? Tickets are still available to purchase here, and full tour dates are listed below;
