SHEARS has dropped her brand new track ‘Afterthought’. The song is available to listen to on Spotify!

SHEARS had an incredible introduction to the music scene back in 2020 who sold-out her own headline shows. She has featured on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Hot List, and featured on many playlists.

The musician based in Edinburgh, Becca Shearing, had extreme success with her last single ‘Pick Me Up’. With its’ fun pop vibe and energy, she has now taken time out to work on a darker and more intense electro banger in the form of ‘Afterthought’.

The track has an eerie feeling from the very beginning, and is haunted by the feeling of not knowing whether to trust your gut. This head bopper will have you hooked from the first listen, with incredible vocals and harmonies from SHEARS. The relatable track has layers of personal experience and depth, with its’ production standing out by a clear mile compared to other tracks within its’ genre.

When discussing the track, Shears said:

“It’s about someone who can’t see the wood for the trees. Everybody else can see that there is something wrong going on in their life but that person doesn’t have the confidence to step back and see it for themselves. It can be really tough to recognise your self-worth, and so the message of the song is to trust your gut because it’s always right.”

‘Afterthought’ was written and produced by SHEARS and mixed by Matty Green, known for his work with Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa. She recorded the track at home, and had the courage to sing the highest note she has ever sang. Fans can’t wait to hear her angelic tones live again!
