Welsh newcomers, Taxi Rank, have recently dropped their fun-loving new single “A Piece of You.” The track is now available to stream on Spotify!
“A Piece of You” is the perfect track for your playlists. The moment you press play, you will instantly be in a happy mood. The musicianship that can heard throughout is phenomenal. Having five members in a band has it’s advantages. You can hear every single members input and they gel together so perfectly. The harmonies, the catchy hooks, the insane guitar solos – all come together in order to create one hell of an anthem.
The single was independently released and has a uniqueness that will attract the indie crowd. When talking about the release, Taxi Rank member Matt says;
“Although it’ll be our latest release, it was actually the first one to be written way back before lockdown even began – so we’ve been sitting on it for a while!”
When talking about the meaning behind the lyrics, the band explains;
“The song’s general theme is all about trying to relax and avoid taking my own issues out on other people, trying out a blank canvas and looking for inspiration from other people on how they do it.”
“A Piece of You” comes after the success of their previous single “Golden Days.” Two singles that each have their own sound, but still showcases Taxi Rank’s talents. What they both have in common is that they are both extremely catchy. It’s not hard to picture these songs played live in front of an audience filled with hardcore music lovers.
Before the year is over, the five-piece plan on releasing their debut EP. A date is yet to be announced, but if “A Piece of You” and “Golden Days” are anything to go by, then you might want to keep them on your radar.
If you’re a fan of bands, then Taxi Rank are definitely worth your time. If you’re not into bands, give them a go anyway. It’s worth your time and you may have found a new favourite. To keep up to date on what they are up to, be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
