Alt-dance producer, Marcus James, has recently dropped his new single “The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away” – which features MNYS. The track is now available to listen to via all major streaming platforms.
“The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away” is an excellent bass-driven track that hits all those summer vibes. Whilst the beats are ridiculously infectious, the relatable lyrics will hit home to anyone who hears it. It’s one of those songs that brings multiple emotions all at once. Whilst you’ll want to get up off your feet and have a dance around to it, you also want to sit in the corner of your room and think about the lyrics being sung. Your mind will wander off to some distant memory, whilst your toes will be tapping.
When talking about the single, Marcus James explains;
“There’s a certain time of night, usually around 1-3am, if you find yourself unable to sleep the thoughts you’ve pushed aside all day come to the surface. This song reminds me of those moments spent wondering if something from your past could have gone differently, and wondering if someone else is out there thinking the same thing.”
Marcus is rather well known for his collaborations. He’s worked with multi-platinum artist Trevor Guthrie, remixed Dylan Matthew’s ‘Saturday Night’ as well as Warped Tour bands Anarbor and Courage My Love. He’s a highly talenetd producer. If you see his name marked on song credits, you know it’s going to be a belter. As mentioned, “The Night We Nearly Threw It All Away” also features rising star MNYS. He adds his wonderful vocals to the track, making every lyric as powerful as you can imagine. He is also a writer and producer and jumped at the chance to work with Marcus James. MNYS adds;
“Our song is about an unconditional love you have for someone, but it’s on the rocks because you gave it up. When you get a taste of true love, you can’t take it for granted – because nothing else will suffice.”
It’s a track that deserves to be on at least one of your favourite playlists. To keep up to date on what Marcus and MNYS are up to, be sure to follow their socials below;
