Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery have announced new partnership, with a whopping £1m initiative to support performances.
The funding will support over 300 live performances in The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour with Music Venue Trust. Popular names are already set to perform such as Tom Jones, Mahalia and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man for one off performances, with many more to be announced!
Tickets for The National Lottery Revive Tour go on sake on Monday 12th July from 8pm. More tickets are available on the Music Venue Trust website.
The donation will cover and directly underwrite the production and touring costs for over 300 performances this summer. This will allow the grassroots live music industry to start announcing and promoting shows again, knowing that these costs are now covered.
Music Venue Trust are excited as a total of more than 20 yours taking place, confirmed headliners include massive names such as Twin Atlantic, The Futureheads, The Magic Gang and Olivia Dean. There will also be one off performances from household names.
When discussing the new initiative, Sir. Tom Jones said:
“Musicians can record in their bedrooms, but they can’t learn to perform in public without a place to play. Without that, there is no way you can communicate directly to people. It’ll be tough to hone your skills and you’ll never have the thrill of feeling their feedback. Without a grassroots music venue, the neighbourhood won’t have a place where people can come together to discover and support a new talent.”
30,000 tickets or up to half of the audience attending, will be gifted to National Lottery players, giving them an opportunity to get back out there on the music scene. All National Lottery ticket holders will be able to bring along a plus one – all they need to do is to show a National Lottery ticket or scratch card purchased either in store or online.
