New York based singer-songwriter, Alexa Dark, has recently released her brand-new single titled “Fade to Black and Blue.” The track is now available to stream via all major streaming platforms!
“Fade to Black and Blue” packs a punch straight away with it’s intense instrumentation at the opening of the track. You’re already hooked by the time Alexa begins to sing her stunning and unique vocals which perfectly compliments the jazz like tones of the track. The single encapsulates the singers’ signature sound that is unlike any other. “Fade to Black and Blue” is Alexa’s debut which she wrote and recorded with Matt Chiaravalle, and mastered by Grammy-Award winner Emily Lazar. The meaning behind the lyrics explore themes of love and loss. It has a beauty about it that is simply beautiful, dark, and powerful, all rolled into one.
When growing up, Alexa Dark was raised between Spain, Germany, and London, before moving to New York later in life. She’s been surrounded by a variety of cultures that is bound to inspire her love for music. She began to write lyrics and poetry when she was in her teens, and was highly influenced by multiple artists including Françoise Hardy, Jack White, Portishead, and Patsy Cline. The songstress learnt how to perform in front of a crowd when she was in London as she performed at gigs in a band, as well as solo performances.
Now in New York, she has become deeply involved in the live downtown music scene. It is here that she began to work on new material, thus “”Fade to Black and Blue” was born.Her music demonstrates an eeriness that you can’t help but fall in love with. Alexa has a voice that you will want to listen to over and over agin. this may be her debut, but there is no doubt that she will continue wowing us with her talents.
