Teddy Swims has released his fantastic new EP, ‘unlearning’. It is now available to listen to on all major streaming platforms!
Teddy Swims has worked hard to get his music where it is today. Originally from Atlanta, Teddy began recording covers from his bedroom studio, and soon amassed nearly 2 million subscribers and recorded hundred of millions. With his signature style of soul, R&B and hip hop, soon made the music scene shake with excitement. Teddy made the decision to move away from covers to singing his own material.
The EP starts with ‘L. I. F. E.’ And is an incredible start to the record. Teddy has also released a video to run alongside the track. The breezy production compliments the lyrics perfectly. The music video is now avaiable to view via YouTube below;
A few track later, we have ‘Blowin’ Smoke’. You’ll be longing for long summer nights before the first chorus! With its fun backing track and tongue and cheek lyrics, we imagine this will be a favourite among fans. A slower and more serious vibe comes with ‘Somebody Should Kiss You’. Teddy’s vocals are truly breath taking, and is a classic tear jerker on the album. The song is sang so passionately!
Rounding up, the final track is ‘Will It Find Me’. With inspiration from the classic quote ‘you’ll never find it if you’re looking for it’, Teddy elegantly describes the hopeless feeling of wondering if it doesn’t find you. This is a perfect finish to the album, and a wonderful close to the emotional rollercoaster that is ‘Unlearning’.

When discussing the EP, Teddy said:
“I wanted to enter into the world with my first body of work knowing the songs were the best they could be. I felt like everything fit together in terms of what I wanted to say. The title perfectly encapsulates 2020! We’ve all had to do a little introspection, break some bad habits, and figure out who we are again. There are some things we took for granted that, thanks to this Pandemic, we had to really open our eyes and do some unlearning!”
The future looks bright for Teddy, as he has unveiled a new 2021 graphic novel ‘Teddy Swims: Swimmy and the Valley of the Last Song. As well as this, he is also going on the road with GRAMMY award winning Zac Brown Band for multiple stadium gigs. You can find the tour dates below:
