Jody and the Jerms have recently released their new single ‘Sensation’. The track is now available to stream via all major streaming platforms here.
The group formed in 2019, and are a sextet from Oxford. Jody and the Jerms are fronted by a woman named – you guessed it – Jody, who had never sung in front of anyone until joining the band. From the off set she was comfortable to let the world hear her voice, with the support of the Jerms. Within only a matter of weeks from forming, original songs, tour dates and humungous plans were born.
Before the lockdown in the UK, the band were only able to perform live once in front of a crowd. However, their passions haven’t gone to waste as their passions have since been set on recording a brand new album named ‘Deeper’, released in September 2020. The album had an immense reaction, with singles such as ‘It’s All Up To You’ and ‘Deeper’ grabbing the attention of listeners of radio stations such as BBC Introducing and Radio X. The group have also surprisingly become popular amongst Spanish fans, gaining support from the wider public and national media in Spain.
‘Sensation’ is a guaranteed foot bopper from the very moment you press play. The vocals of Jody bring the instruments together perfectly, with its’ multiple layers of organ and vocal harmonies, upbeat synth and melody. The track was originally written by bandmates Niall and Jody in March 2021.
The tune comes from new EP with the same title, releasing on 10th May. Here’s the track listing:
- Sunshine Ray
- Never Going Home
