Multi-platinum artist Jimmie Allen has recently discovered that he is the winner of New Male Artist of the Year at the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards!
The ACM Awards was hosted by the iconic country superstar Keith Urban – who happens to be a 15 time winner himself! The star surprised both male and female artist of the year with a personalised video telling them of this fantastic news. Jimmie’s reaction to the news can be found via the awards Facebook page.
Jimmie Allen is an incredible singer-songwriter that made history as the first black artist to launch his music career with two consecutive No. 1 hits on country radio. The first of these tracks being his debut single “Best Shot” which found its place at Number 1 for an astonishing three weeks! The second being his single “Make Me Want To” off his debut album “Mercury Lane.”
Jimmie’s latest single “Freedom Was A Highway,” features the wonderful Brad Paisley and is currently sitting on the New Music playlist at BBC Radio 2 for the second week running! The track was first heard on the singer’s star studded collaboration album “Bettie James” which has reached a massive 120 million streams since its release last year. “Bettie James” was critically acclaimed from all over the globe by fans and media outlets.
Not only is he a talented musician, but Jimmie is also branching out of the music scene a little bit by releasing his debut children’s book on the July 13th 2021. The book is titled “My Voice Is a Trumpet” and tells a powerful story of speaking out about what you believe in – no matter how old you are. He worked alongside veteran illustrator Cathy Ann Johnson to help bring the story to life.
