CHIKA has recently released her brand-new EP titled “ONCE UPON A TIME.” The EP is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
CHIKA is a multi-talented individual. The Alabama-born rapper, singer, actress and activist was nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist. Just a few days before the Grammys, CHIKA dropped her insane new EP “ONCE UPON A TIME.” The first track you’re introduced to is “FAIRY TALES” – which features BJ The Chicago Kid. The opening track may only be less than two minutes long, but it packs a punch instantly.
“HICKORY DICKORY” is up next and it sees the rapper spitting bars about her journey to becoming the artist she is today. The highs and lows of the music industry, how she has always dreamt of becoming a high profile musician who performs in front of millions of fans singing the lyrics she wrote back to her. It’s a rather inspirational track that influences you to want to follow your dreams just the same, without sugar-coating the reality.
“CINDERELLA PT 1” and “CINDERELLA PT 2” showcases CHIKA’s silky vocals. These tracks will put you in an enchanting, dream-like place that you don’t want to escape from. The blend of the artists hypnotising vocals, and the smooth, dreamy rhythms, creates an atmosphere that you will want to chill and relax too.
CHIKA has gained a lot of interest since taking the risk of kicking off her singing career instead of enrolling in college. Not only was she nominated for a Grammy, but she has also been nominated for Outstanding New Artist at the NCAAP Awards on March 22nd-25th and Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist at the GLAAD Awards in April. She also uses her platform to advocate inclusivity and challenge societal norms regarding race, gender, mental health, and body image. She’s likely to inspire many and will continue to raise awareness on anything that she feels needs highlighting in todays society.
